For admissions to the Emerson School, our private elementary school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic origin, or religion. Emerson School does not administer admission tests as part of enrollment, but it does consider other factors, including the level of parental support, in determining the appropriateness of a particular admission.
Families are urged to arrange to visit a program before applying because application fees are nonrefundable, except under certain very specific conditions.
Applications are accepted according to the following priorities:
Priority in enrollment is given only in accordance with the timetable listed below. Applications will be accepted throughout the year for openings that occur during the year. Before applying or enrolling, the Statement of Program, Statement of Fees, and Statement of Policies should be read fully.

To apply, a completed application must be submitted to the director with a one-time application fee of $250. These fee will be refunded only if the school does not accept the child for enrollment within 15 days before or after the beginning time specified on the application. The fee is waived for school or kindergarten children currently enrolled in an ELI program who re-enroll by the priority deadline specified. Given satisfactory student progress and appropriate parent support, students currently enrolled in the school are accepted for renewed enrollment in subsequent years and do not need to submit a new application. Part of the application procedure for prospective students includes scheduled visits to the school for up to three days.
To ensure priority consideration for the academic year beginning September 1, applications must be submitted by the dates indicated above. The earlier applications are received, the more flexibility applicants will have in arranging mutually convenient dates for interviews and visits that must be completed before students can be accepted

Emerson provides a minimum of a nine-hour program that meets the needs of most working parents. It is offered on a five-days-per-week basis only. Unlike other centers that close during holiday periods, Emerson maintains year-round contracts with teachers and are closed only 10 days per year. Additional half-hour increments beyond nine are available for an additional charge.
The tuition fee includes all charges. No additional fees are charged for Center-supplied materials or activities (with the exception of a materials development fee for the Chinese immersion program). A younger sibling of a child enrolled in an ELI center or school receives a 10% discount.
Since all operating costs—salaries, rent, insurance, and so forth—continue during holidays and when students are absent, Emerson does not reduce tuition as a result of planned or unplanned absences.
Limited scholarships are available for eligible students. Please contact us for more information.
