Emerson and Hacienda Students Visit Hiller Aviation Museum

Written by Christina Trujillo

Emerson School and Hacienda School 5th grade and middle school students joined together for a field trip to the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos in April. They went on a guided tour of the Museum collection that included:

-Observations of historic aircraft.

-Interpretation of historical and/or scientific significance of select aircraft.

-Opportunities to enter aircraft cockpits.

-Demonstrations of aircraft function and/or aerodynamics.

-Hands-on exploration of model aircraft.

Following the tour students were able to:

-Explore the gallery exhibits (flight simulators, aircraft cockpits and Boeing 747).

-Have lunch with their friends, chaperones and teachers.

Another great field trip in the books!
