    Our centers take pride in hiring the highest caliber staff and providing them with excellent compensation, benefits, and working conditions. Permanent, full-time staff receive health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, flexible pre-tax spending accounts, child care subsidies, a credit union, paid holidays, seniority sabbaticals, and paid time off for program observations, jury duty, bereavement, and sick and vacation days.

    Heads Up! teachers devote 25% of their working day to administrative responsibilities such as meeting with parents, training staff, and preparing classroom activities. They are given annual membership in the National Association for the Education of Young Children and a discretionary monthly expense allowance for their programs. We provide all staff with an extensive in-service training program, an annual off-site, fully-paid training retreat, and funds for outside training.

    Our centers exceed the minimum staffing ratios required by state law. Unlike most centers, we include only teaching staff present with children in the calculation of our ratios; the director, administrators, and off-duty teachers, including those at lunch or on their preparation time, are not included.

    Our centers purchase only the highest quality materials, supplies, and playthings. They are maintained continuously and supplemented or replaced several times a year. In addition, HeadsUp! premises are cleaned daily by a professional cleaning service.
