What our parents and students are saying:

Parent Commentaries

Emerson School is a school designed and operated fundamentally for the learning needs of the children, not the teaching needs of the staff, school management, or the whims of parents.  It is the school that I wish that I had gone to.
Rich Wipfler, Emerson School parent for 13 years

Our experience at Hacienda School has been extremely positive.  We appreciate the personal attention to the student’s weekly-customized work assignments and the philosophy of teaching responsibility and the enjoyment of learning.  The teachers are wonderful.  We can always discuss status and updates openly.  Thanks for a great experience and we look forward to more this year.
Alan and Ellen Chun, Hacienda School parents

The school’s Montessori program is wonderful for fostering your child’s independence and work responsibilities.  We especially like the method of teaching each child on an individual basis according to his/her academic level.  Above all, the teachers are nurturing, fun-loving, yet discipline.
  Kim Lum, Hacienda School parent

Our family has had a 13-year commitment to the Hacienda system.  Our two children have thrived from infancy to teenage in the supportive, stimulating, and rich environment at these schools.  The facilities are excellent and the teachers are exceptional.  We expect to continue at Hacienda for years to come.
Kathy Turner Meyer, Hacienda School parent

Our child seems very happy to arrive in the mornings, which is very reassuring to us.
  San Jose Infant/Toddler parent

My child’s analytical skills and her rich vocabulary are a direct result of her teachers’ commitment to treat their students as individual thinking human beings capable of great understanding and achievements.
  Antonio Garcia, Hacienda School parent

Hacienda School is outstanding in every way-its academic program, nurturing environment, focus on the whole child, and attention to the specific needs of each student.
  Rory MacLeon, Hacienda School parent

The teachers treat my daughter with respect and patience... they are positive and nurturing.

Student Commentaries

At Emerson, they can teach you to do anything.
Stephen Soward, Emerson Student, Grade 1

We get to make choices about how we get our work done, what we work on and when we do it.  Because we have the opportunity to choose our own work, we are strongly self-motivated.
Caelin McNair, Emerson student, Grade 7

Hacienda is a school that you could be comfortable with.  Here we (the students) do fun things such as learning, writing, playing and just having fun.  We do plays, have P.E., and learn about different subjects.
Aaron Yang, Hacienda School Student, Grade 5

At Hacienda School we get to do things that are unique and fun at the same time.  We also have the freedom of working on what we want to, when we want to do it.  Occasionally, we will all go on a field trip to places like Monterey Bay Aquarium or Moss Beach tide pools.  Whether it’s a test or a field trip we are always learning something new.
Jae Williams, Hacienda School Student, Grade 4

I think Hacienda School is special because if there are 12 or more there are always about 2 or 3 teachers. The teachers make all the lessons fun.
Kristen Mickle-Ploof, Hacienda School, Grade 4

I think Hacienda School is challening.  I like Hacienda School because we get to play, work, have new lessons every day, do P.E. with laps and stretches and free play.
Ryan Probst, Hacienda School Student, Grade 3

I like Hacienda School because you get to make friends very fast.  Don’t worry, if you make a mistake people will help you.
Matthew Teng, Hacienda School Student, Grade 4
